Book Fair

Last night we got to go to the FWCS book fair and Ryan and Ally had a blast. They both really love looking at books and reading, so this was the perfect event for our family. Honey was there too so it was extra fun!! Ryan absolutely LOVES anything Star Wars related which is so interesting because he's never seen any of the movies, but he gravitates towards star wars any chance he gets. This in one of the books he picked out.
Honey gave Ally this cool lion that has a plastic cage like a purse...which she has been carrying nonstop.
Taking a ride on a lion
"I do it" too!!! We hear that a lot right now:)

Lazy Days

Yesterday poor Ryan was sick so he was pretty puny most of the afternoon. At some point, he decided to lay down on the floor to read his Highlight magazine(thanks Aunt Cary)!!! And of course little sis had to sit down and read her magazine too. Her magazine of choice is always Reader's Digest, which is funny on two levels. One, that we get Reader's Digest (I thought only old people get that little jewel:) and two that Ally chose that to "read". We have had a little bit of a hectic time at our house lately, so it was really nice to have some time to veg out. Ryan is MUCH better today and we have been taking it easy with the painters this morning. These are the pictures that I'm so glad I'll have one day:).

Strike THE pose

1997
Does this make you laugh like it does me...maybe it's the paint fumes in my house, but I am cracking up at this picture that I just found. A little history. Caryn and I both were Tri-Delts at Texas Tech and whenever we would go to a party we would strike this beautiful pose. I don't know why or where we saw it but somehow we thought it was too funny. Apparently we still do, this next picture is last weekend at Kacey's shower. This one's for you Caryn...Love you!!

2008...almost 10 years later, married with 2 kids each, we haven't aged one bit-HE HE! sill funny:)

Daddy's Little Pumpkin

Mark is in San Antonio this week, and we are having some cabinets painted at our house so we have been basically living at Honey and GP's house the last few days. Which is pretty awesome, my dad cooks, and the kids are entertained and lots of bath time help!!! Ally just loves playing over there and one of the highlights is the piano in my old bedroom. My parents are so patient with her as she just bangs away:) She sure is a cute little pianist.

Sweet music

We miss you Daddy!

G-O-A-L!!!!!

Tonight Ryan Mark Wood scored his first soccer goal this season in a game!!! I didn't have my camera tonight ( I know what kind of blogger am I???) so these pictures are from the last game. We are so proud of our little man, he was really hustling tonight. I asked him why tonight was different than all the previous games and he said, " I wasn't hot". Interesting but I totally agree with that. I absolutely LOVE this time of year, fall is coming:) Bravo Ryan we love watching you play!!!

Before the game Ryan and his biggest fan!!!

Waiting his turn to play. His team name is fire! which is pretty hilarious, because all during the game the parents are yelling,"GO FIRE, GO!!"

Ally and her Minnie Mouse cup...a must have at soccer games.

Getting ready for a corner kick. Go #7!!!
Caroline is making a block, nice kick!

"L" shower

This weekend I got to go to Houston with my sister and mother to celebrate Kacey and her sweet little Lila who will be arriving on Dec. 1st!!! We had the best time at her baby shower. Shannon did an AMAZING job, everything was just perfect!! The theme for the shower was the letter "L" for Lila so there were L's all over the house from the front door to the cupcakes, every detail was thought out. Kacey has some great friends in Houston so it was really nice to get to meet a lot of them at the baby shower. Isn't Kacey the most adorable, stylish pregnant girl you have ever seen!!! It was so nice to get to hang out with my three favorite people in the whole world:). Here we are at the shower.

The beautiful table with the best food!!!

All of Lila's Loot...she really has some generous friends!!

We really did have the best time, getting her nursery ready, picking out her coming home outfit and just laughing, shopping and eating. Thank you Mark for watching our sweet children all weekend so we could have some time devoted just to Kacey!!! I wish you could have heard all the advice that was given to her from all the Purdy girls...sweet Kacey just took it all in. I absolutely adore my sisters and any time I get to hang with them is time well spent. I also wish you could have seen how I was greeted by my daughter last night when we got back...if only I had my camera!! Ally was standing at the front door in just her diaper and crocs with one of my headbands on her tiny head, holding all of her "lovies" squealing with delight...it was so precious. I was so happy to see her sweet little face! Ryan also quickly showed me all his Legos that he made while I was gone. They had such a great time with their Dad.

Craft night anyone??

Last Thursday night I got to do one of my favorite things...spend some time with the girls. I absolutely love hanging out with Caryn, Katy and Lauren because we always have a great time!! Now it has been well documented that I am less than crafty, but I can copy Lauren's ideas pretty well:). The main reason I love these nights is because we have such a great time laughing, and then I also have some pretty cute holiday decorations when it's all said and done. For fall we decided to go glitter crazy...which I LOVE. We had a variety of options: glitter houses, glitter pumpkins, and Caryn made this adorable Trick or Treat glitter sign. Here's a before of the houses at Hobby Lobby.

Here I am getting my craft on:) We painted them first and then put Modge Podge on so the glitter would stick.
Oh did I mention that it's around 11:00 at night so that's why I look so stunning in my MHS t-shirt!!! Here's Lauren and Katy and I mid-craft.
Caryn is doing some incredible glittering of that pumpkin.
Here's all the finished products...Katy did some Christmas houses instead of fall and they turned out precious!
Here's my small houses

We had to take a self-portrait..which I laugh at every time I see it.

Here we are all "fixed"...like I said the craftiest bunch in Waco!!!
