Christmas day 2013

Merry Christmas!! We started the day off at our house.  This was the first time that it's every been just the five of us on Christmas morning.  It was quiet and strange but also terrific!

Here's the stockings so when we look back we can remember what the kids were into every year.

 morning sunshine

this was the first year of no legos for Ryan! He is very into baseball and football cards right now so this Topps complete set was a hit
baby brady! his favorite gifts were food :)

 biggest hit=fruit snacks

 THOMAS!!!

after a lazy quiet morning we headed to honey and gp's
 annual Purdy family PJ picture

nana gave all the grandkids $10….another score!

mom had a lot of very fun games planned throughout the day and at the end of each game the kids would get a small gift.  first up---Nana and Sam Snowmen :)
 they were such great sports
 beautiful day outside!

then it was off to the races and some silly string

honey and gp's photo book each year is a treasure
everyone got their own puzzle, and then
 dressed up Rudolf(s)

Again awesome sports! no christmas day is complete without a HB Jesus! Thank you mom for planning such a wonderful day.

by the end of this day Mark was very sick and I still felt awful but we had wonderful memories watching the cousins have a blast together all day!

Christmas Eve 2013

Looking back on these pictures brings such a smile to my face.  Mark and I were both very sick during Christmas and so most of this day is a medicated blur….SO thankful for pictures:).  We are incredibly blessed to be able to spend time with our family each week, and Christmas is EXTRA special when my sisters are both in town and we are all together at mom and dad's.  It is such a joyous time celebrating our Lord and Savior!

Christmas Eve started with Brady's first orange slice---he loves them and asks for them constantly
Then the annual decorating of the Gingerbread House.  The icing pack busted this year so the kids went for a crazy, "messy" house. (Ryan practicing his crazy photo face)
Handmade Christmas card for Daddy. His favorite gift!

Mark and his mini---more alike every year!

Then we headed to mom and dad to open gifts, and snack on some yummy apps before heading to the Christmas Eve service at our church.
Kacey and her sweet girls
Caryn and 1/2 of her sweet boys
 Aunt Shirley and James Wright
 Boy Cousins
A very typical picture of Brady these day
We had the JOY of hearing Ryan recite the entire chapter of Luke 2 this year…such a treat
 sweet boy's first Christmas

 Brady's such a big helper :)
 Brady's turn

 Double trouble

Love that Crew gives such great hugs!
 Caroline's turn
 one of my favorite pics!
 then Lila

 Wyatt

 Ally

 Stacey

 and finally Ryan…whew

They were so cute thanking the person that drew their name.  YAY Cousins!
 I was there too
then we moved onto the adults Oldest to youngest

Mark and I drew my sisters I decided to take them on a little scavenger hunt for their gift, since we probably won't have them both again for years!

YAY for scavenger hunt fun:))).  Grandma joined us this year which was a WONDERFUL treat

 I love this picture!

After the kids changed onto PJs we went to church and then back to our house.  Being sick on Christmas is for the birds, but I'm so thankful we were able to celebrate together!
