"In the beginning...

...God created the Heavens and the Earth." Genesis 1:1.

This was Ryan's memory verse the first week of Kindergarten. They memorize a verse a week and a lot of the lessons throughout the week are centered around that verse. Mrs. Sims was teaching her students all about God's creation. Here is my child's first writing Journal (he tried to color the cover black, but ran out of time).

God made Star Wars.

I am glad God made Legos.

I like Star Wars.

I can play Legos Star Wars Wii.

(My favorite) If I were a fish, I would have a light saber and fight.

I think it would be great to see Real Star Wars.

At least the boy knows how to work a theme! I don't think this was the point but I love that Mrs. Sims just let him roll with his favorite 2 topics: Legos and Star Wars. Hilarious.

Angie I am so glad you posted that not only because it was hilarious and thoroughly entertaining for me to see :) but also because someday that will be a little treasure and glimpse into his precious logo and star wars lovin little kindergarten mind. I think he comes by that theme business naturally. :) Got his cute invite and we can't wait!!

HILARIOUS!! At least he is consistant. I had to show this to Blaine and he says he agrees and likes it. You have a little budding artist on your hands.

teachers do love a theme! i'm glad his teacher allowed him to be original and share his own thoughts. sometimes we {parents and teachers} try so hard to get our kids to act and say and do certain things that fit our mold and our ideas- look what we miss when we do!

thanks for sharing with us.
